This guided excursion through the bustling streets of our capital
city, will first allow you to view the Barracca Gardens that command a
breath-taking panorama of the Grand Harbour and then to St. John's Co-Cathedral,
adorned in riches that date back to the times of the Knights of Malta.
After you will be visiting the Grand Master's Palace, where you will admire
the staterooms. Lastly you will watch the Malta Experience, a multivision
show that depicts Malta's history throughout the ages.
Mdina
A half day excursion to the old capital of
Mdina. During this walk in the silent city, you will visit the cathedral
and the imposing bastions which will allow you to admire a panorama of
most of the island. Later you will proceed to Dingli Cliffs. Finally you
will stop at the botanic gardens of San Anton.
Harbour Cruise
On boarding this pleasure boat you will sail
to visit the natural ports of Marsamxett and the Grand Harbour whose natural
creeks make this port one of the most beautiful in Europe. The views of
the fortifications from the seaward side are unique and a treasure for
photographers.
Prehistoric Temples
You will visit the temples of Tarxien. The three temples were
first discovered in 1915, and since they were very carefully excavated,
they are still in a very good state of preservation. Moreover, they provide
good evidence of the skill and the artistic capabilities of the people
of the megalithic age, and various sculptures can be admired. Afterwards,
you will visit the Temples of Hagar Qim, a name meaning "Stones of Worship.
This excursion comes to an end by visiting Ghar Dalam the "Cave of Darkness",
one of the first habitats of Malta's forefathers.
Blue Grotto
Excursion to the south of the island visiting
the main fishing village of Marsaxlokk whose waterfront is lined with
'luzzus' painted in traditional reds, blues and yellows that add colour
to this peaceful bay, once the site of the first Turkish landing during
the Great Siege of 1565. On passing through the nearby village of Birzebbugia,
a traditional summer resort for Maltese families you proceed to the Blue
Grotto where you can visit the grottoes from close by
.
Wine Tasting
This tour takes you to one of the finest wineries
on the island, where an opportunity to discover the wealth Malta has to
offer in the viticulture field awaits you. A variety of wines will be
offered to be savoured and enjoyed in agreeable surroundings, accompanied
by light Maltese snacks.
Full Day Excursions
Gozo Heritage
Excursion to Malta's sister island of Gozo. After a twenty-minute
crossing, on setting foot in Gozo you will notice that although both islands
are similar in history and development Gozo has a character entirely of
its own. Gozo, is a hilly island, greener and more picturesque than Malta.
During this excursion, you will visit the Azur Window at Dwejra. The citadel
in Victoria, the bay of Xlendi, and the Gozo Heritage, where whilst walking
amongst historical carved figures you will discover the fascinating stories
of the Goddess Calypso; speculate about missing treasures and examine the
elaborate sculptures which together with the sounds, smells and special
lighting effects will take you back in time. Free time for shopping will
also be given - Gozo is renowned for its woollen goods and handmade lace.
Blue Grotto and the Temples
Discover the southern part of Malta. After
having visited the fishing villages of Marsaxlokk and Birzebbugia you
proceed to the fabled Blue Grotto where there will be the possibility
of admiring the grottos from close by. Lunch is served in one of the picturesque
villages. Tarxien Temples is a group of three temples that due to their
very good state of preservation provided plentiful evidence of the skill
and artistic abilities of our forefathers. This day comes to an end when
you will be guided through the cave of Ghar Dalam, one of the first habitats
of these islands.
Mdina, Dingli and Mosta
This excursion takes you to the central part
of Malta that is dominated by the ancient citadel of Mdina. On passing
through the narrow streets of Mdina, the 'silent city', you will admire
the cathedral and the imposing bastions that command a magnificent view
of most of the island. On leaving Mdina through the 'Greek Gate' you stop
at the catacombs before proceeding to the cliffs at Dingli. After lunch
visits to the botanic gardens of San Anton and the impressive dome of
Mosta's parish church are included besides the crafts centre at Ta'Qali,
where you are given time for shopping.
